The ability to supervise and coordinate the activities of all stewards to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the department The ability to select, train and schedule all Stewarding department employees The ability to execute all tasks of each steward position in the department Some management experience in either banquets, restaurants, kitchens or as an Assistant Executive Steward Prior knowledge of dish machine, steam cleaning, kitchen, and floor cleaning equipment Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language To maintain a clean and safe work environment To follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards To ensure all equipment is in working order and report any items in need of repair To order and control all inventory of cleaning compounds To work closely with the Chef, Director of Banquets/Catering to anticipate guest needs To prepare monthly reports on shortages in china, silverware and equipment and requisition replacements as required while following budget guidelines To ensure all banquet event orders are reviewed to ensure proper set-ups are in place To supervise and maintain the sanitation of kitchen equipment and other areas assigned To conduct regularly scheduled departmental meetings To balance operational, administrative and Colleague needs To lead and manage the Stewarding team in all aspects of the department and ensure standards are followed To consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow colleagues Working hours are according to catering needs and may change from day to day Stewards are expected to account for all equipment delivered to a site, and report any missing or broken equipment to the Stewarding Managerįollow up with stewarding team to ensure organization, restocking, and cleanliness of the Stewards’ area as per the cleaning scheduleįollow all guidelines, policies, and instruction completely Stewards are responsible to make the necessary pick ups for events they delivered as well as any others assigned by the stewarding manager. Provide lists and account for all pick-ups the day of the delivery. Proper communication with the sales team regarding additions that clients make to orders, or items that were forgotten Write daily catering delivery schedules, ensuring seamless timing and customer satisfactionĭelivery of events promptly and in their entirety, at the time and location specified on the event sheetĬonduct bi-annual catering smallwares inventory in conjunction with catering departmentsĬontact with the customer on site, striving to meet their requests and exceed their expectations. Must pass annual employee driving back ground check Maintain cleanliness of company vehicles. Responsible for vehicle maintenance in coordination with BU Trucking. Operate all vehicles in accordance with to Boston University guidelines, and maintain that all stewards do the same.
